Thank you so much for doing a beautiful job with my 4 Felco clippers and 1 Lopper.
They look so wonderful, but a didn’t go out and try them yet. You two are so delightful and I wish you much success with your business. I had wished that you had
given me a business card so I could get more sharpening done in the future and know
how to contact you.
All my best, Pat Rose
Hello Matt,
While your request is a little bit outside our usual specialty, I think we might be able to help you with your requests.
I can’t give you a quote on cost, as I don’t know clearly what is to be done, or how long it might take. However, we charge $25 per hour for our labor and can accomplish much in a few hours, depending on the degree of refinement required.
I don’t recommend polishing the sword by hand as it gets rather expensive.
Can you guys engrave some Japanese characters onto my katana? If so, how much would it cost?
I have a 30in bastard sword that I am having a hard time finding someone to sharpen. Any chance you might be able to take care of it?
Would you be willing to blend a secondary bevel of a sword into an appleseed edge? I have a Del Tin 5143 (14th century hand and a half sword) whose previous owner put a rather steep secondary bevel on.
This is just an inquiry for future reference. Thanks in advance! π
Do you plan on attending any of the Portland Metro area Farmers markets this season, and if so when and where?
Thanks for your assistance with this question.
Regards
Thank you for your interest in our sharpening service.
We will be at the People’s Co-op Farmers Market today, Wednesday April 16th, 2014 and Wednesdays every-other-week onward.
We will also be at the Hollywood Farmers Market in NE Portland this Saturday, April 18th, 2014 and will attend every-other-week as well.
In June, we will also begin attending the Lents International and Woodstock Farmers Markets in SE Portland once-a-month. We will be at the Lents International Farmers Market every second Sunday of the month beginning on June 8th, 2014. Every forth Sunday of the month we will be at the Woodstock Farmers Market, beginning June 22nd.
You may also be able to find us at the Southwest Waterfront Farmers Market later in the year, but a schedule for that market has not yet been finalized.
Our market schedule is now available on our website’s Sharpening Service page.
We hope you’ll be able to visit us at one of the markets we attend.
Hi,
If I have a lot of knives to be sharpened (just for my household use), should I bring them to you at a Farmer’s Market? Seems like it would take quite a while to sharpen my knives & tools (including a reel lawn mower). Do you pick up for things like this?
You’re welcome to bring your knives to be sharpened at one of the Farmers Markets I attend. The wait simply would depend on the queue ahead of you.
Otherwise, I would also be happy to come and sharpen at your location in the Portland metro area. A minimum charge would apply, dependent upon your address.
Unfortunately, we are unable to sharpen manual reel lawn mowers.
Hi.
Do you sharpen paper trimmers? What rate would apply? Also, would you be able to advise us if a particular knife is not worth sharpening?
Thank you, Erica
We do indeed sharpen paper cutters. The price for sharpening would start at $10, with extra charged for exceptionally large ones or repairs.
I would be happy to advise you as to whether the price of a sharpening on particular knife would be justified.
What about a 22″ push mower? The old style hand push reels?
Unfortunately, the old style manual-powered reel lawn mowers are a specialized item and we cannot sharpen them.
Howdy. Do you have an updated farmer’s market schedule for 2015? I’m interested in having a couple of knives sharpened at the People’s Co-Op market.
Thanks.
